On January 14, a meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM was held, in which Ukraine was represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko.

As part of the discussion of the situation in the Organization's Member States, Olexandr Mischenko informed about the situation on the frontline, as well as the consequences of the latest Russian missile and drone attacks against the civilian population of Ukraine and critical infrastructure facilities.

In this regard, the Ukrainian diplomat expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan and Georgia for allocating government humanitarian assistance to the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, which is suffering from daily shelling by the Russian aggressor, as well as to the business community and non-governmental organizations of Moldova, which continue to send essential items to the most affected regions of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the results of the Organization's activities in 2025 were summed up and plans for 2026 were agreed. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on the partners within GUAM to intensify practical interaction and fully utilize the existing potential of the Organization as an effective platform for coordinating efforts, deepening regional cooperation and promoting common interests of the participating states.

In this context, the Ukrainian side drew the partners' attention to the need to hold the next meeting of the GUAM Council of Foreign Ministers as soon as possible. The greatest attention was paid to the issue of the transfer of the chairmanship and electing a new Secretary General in accordance with the GUAM Charter.
