On Friday, March 28, following the agreements reached between Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha and Director-General of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Fernando Arias, an OPCW expert group visited Ukraine and transferred 7 First Defender RM detectors to the Ukrainian side
The parties also agreed to conduct the necessary training in the near future. The new equipment will help better document war crimes committed by the Russian Federation and respond to chemical emergencies.
This is the third OPCW technical assistance visit to Ukraine, organized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. In total, the OPCW experts have already transferred more than 80 advanced LCD 3.3 detectors and 20 First Defender RM detectors.
