In view of the abduction of seven citizens of Ukraine and the seizure of property belonging to a state-owned bank in Budapest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly advises Ukrainian citizens to refrain from travel to Hungary, given the current inability to ensure their safety amid arbitrary actions by the Hungarian authorities. Where feasible, it is also recommended to prioritise alternative transit routes that avoid Hungarian territory.
The Ministry further draws the attention of Ukrainian and European businesses to the risks of arbitrary expropriation of property in Hungary and urges that such risks be duly taken into account when planning and conducting any business activities in the country.
