On December 22, a study visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was held by students and teachers of the Institute of History, Law and International Relations of the Anton Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University.

As part of the visit, the team met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mishchenko. During the conversation, the diplomat spoke about the key priorities of Ukraine's foreign policy, the role of diplomacy in protecting the national interests of the state, as well as the opportunities for professional realization for young people in the system of diplomatic service bodies.

Olexandr Mishchenko emphasized the importance of professional training, responsibility, strategic thinking and motivation for working in the diplomatic service, and encouraged students to consider diplomacy as a sphere of future professional realization. He also noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha pays special attention to increasing the accessibility of the diplomatic service for young people, and that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will welcome the participation of students in the internship program at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and later in the competitive selection for diplomatic service positions.

The visit included a tour of the Ministry, during which the guests learned about the history of the building, the specifics of the work of diplomats, and viewed the exhibition.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will continue to support educational initiatives and promote deeper cooperation with higher education institutions in order to build the human resources potential of the Ukrainian diplomatic service.
