On 20 November 2024 the foreign ministries of Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands held consultations on policy and security issues at the level of department directors.

The participants discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to bilateral and multilateral agenda, focusing on further steps to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities and implement the Victory Plan to achieve lasting and just peace.

The parties also discussed international efforts to hold Russia and its leadership accountable for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its consistent support since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion and for Dutch leadership in many critical issues essential to Ukraine.

The Dutch side reaffirmed its readiness to continue providing comprehensive assistance to Ukraine. This goes in line with the provisions set out in the bilateral agreement on security cooperation, covering financing for Ukraine's defence industry, strengthening the resilience of the energy sector and supporting Ukraine on its path toward EU and NATO membership.

The parties agreed to initiate the work for establishing a mechanism of bilateral intergovernmental dialogue.
