On November 19, 2024 consultations on security policy issues were held in Kyiv at the level of department directors of foreign affairs ministries of Ukraine and Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Finland (N5).
The main attention was paid to assessing the situation at the front; analyzing Russia’s efforts aimed at continuing the war in Europe and its internationalization; ensuring further sustainable defence support for Ukraine, including through long-term programs and mechanisms initiated by the Northern European partners.
Representatives of Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Finland confirmed their support of the implementation of the Victory Plan, presented to the leaders of those countries by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the fourth Ukrainian-Nordic Summit late October in Reykjavik.
The parties also coordinated the priorities of interaction within international organizations to counter Russian aggression as well as joint steps towards Ukraine’s membership in EU and NATO.
