On October 16, 2024 bilateral consultations on sanctions policy took place between the foreign policy departments of Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Liudmyla Yenina, Director of the Department General for Economic Diplomacy, while the Dutch side was represented by Eeuwke Faber, Director & Special Envoy Sanctions Policy.
The parties discussed further cooperation in sanctions policy against the aggressor state, the proper implementation of international sanctions, and further steps to enhance global coordination in countering sanctions circumvention.
Liudmyla Yenina expressed gratitude to the Dutch partners for their continued support in strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia and its satellites. She emphasized the main priorities in imposing sanctions on key sectors of the Russian economy, particularly in energy, metallurgy, finance, the defense industry, and the IT sector, which contribute to the Russian budget to sustain its aggressive war against our country.
Particular attention was given to combating sanctions evasion, especially involving third countries, as well as countering the shadow fleet and the increasing cooperation between Russia, North Korea, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Dutch side assured continued support for the process of strengthening economic restrictions against Russia and its accomplices.
