On 16 October, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Political Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland Gerard Keown.
Yevhen Perebyinis praised the dynamics of Ukrainian-Irish cooperation and expressed gratitude to Ireland for its political, humanitarian, economic and financial support of Ukraine against the backdrop of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. In this context, the sides focused on measures to implement the recently concluded bilateral Agreement on Support for Ukraine and Cooperation between Ukraine and Ireland.
Yevhen Perebyinis briefed Gerard Keown on the Victory Plan of Ukraine, presented to the Ukrainian people by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine today.
The interlocutors also discussed ways of further bilateral cooperation on the Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, strengthening cooperation in the field of demining, wider involvement of Ireland in the implementation of the Peace Formula and other international initiatives in support of Ukraine as well as expansion of the restrictive measures against Russia. The sides emphasized that consolidation of the international community is a common priority for the establishment of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
From his part, Gerard Keown reaffirmed Ireland’s readiness to continue to provide the necessary assistance to Ukraine and deepen bilateral partnership to ensure Ukraine’s victory over the Russian aggressor.
