2 February 2021 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar met with Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine Päivi Laine.

The parties discussed the ways to step up political dialogue between Ukraine and Finland, in particular holding in the near future of bilateral political consultations between the two countries’ Foreign Ministries, as well as cooperation in the framework of the international organizations. 

Vasyl Bodnar expressed Ukraine’s interest to build up cooperation with the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats in Helsinki and exchange experience in this field. The parties agreed that this cooperation would promote better resilience to information and military threats.

Deputy Minister thanked the Ambassador for Finland’s contribution to the reform of the field of education in Ukraine in the framework of the project “Finland's support to Ukrainian school reform”. 

For reference: The European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats was established in Helsinki in 2017 and it is an international organization of 28 EU or/and NATO member-states. The Centre's activity is aimed at strengthening the EU's and NATO's capacity to respond to current threats to the international security, conduct research and expertise in the field of combating hybrid threats.
