On 11 November, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar had a phone conversation with Permanent Secretary of the MFA of the Republic of Cyprus Kornelios Korneliou.

The parties confirmed readiness to intensify political dialogue between the two countries and to deepen cooperation in the economic and investment sphere. 

Vasyl Bodnar and Kornelios Korneliou agreed to organize virtual political consultations between Foreign Ministries of Ukraine and Cyprus in the nearest time. The agenda of the consultations should include a wide range of topics of the bilateral relations and mutual interaction in the framework of international organizations.

The Deputy Minister and the Permanent Secretary also agreed to assist in organizing a working meeting of Finance Ministers of Ukraine and Cyprus in November, who are Co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Ukraine-Cyprus Commission on economic cooperation, to discuss preparation of the next regular session of the Commission.   

Vasyl Bodnar asked Kornelios Korneliou to extend deep gratitude to the Head of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostom II for the recognition of the Autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
