In following up on the agreements reached during Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba's visit to Madrid in September, on 11 November 2020, Ukraine and Spain held a video conference on digitization.
Deputy Foreign Minister (CDTO) Dmytro Senik, Deputy Ministers of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Shelest, Lyudmyla Rabchynska and Valeria Ionan discussed with the leadership of the Ministry of Economy and Digital Transformation of Spain the issues of the development of e-government and digitalization of the public sector.
The main topics of the video conference were the issues of e-democracy, digital education, entrepreneurship, as well as telecommunications, in particular the possibility of using Spain’s experience in the context of the implementation of projects in the field of digital infrastructure in Ukraine.
During his speech, Dmytro Senik underlined the rapid development of the digital sector in our country. “Ukraine is one of the largest exporters of IT services in Europe and is on its way to become one of the world’s major tech hubs. 21 companies of the Ukrainian origin have been included in the Global Outsourcing 100 list. More than 110 R&D centers and subsidiaries of the well-known international companies are located in Ukraine", said Dmytro Senik.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also expressed hope that the exchange of ideas and best practices during the video conference would be useful for both Ukrainian and Spanish sides, in the context of e-government projects, public informatization and digital services.
