On December 1, 2020, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar took part in the 54-th meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the GUAM Member States.
The Ukrainian diplomat commended the Azerbaijani Side’s efficient GUAM Chairpersonship in 2020 under the difficult and extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Vasyl Bodnar emphasized the importance of coordinating international effort to address the global challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic, and continuing the implementation of new and existing projects within the framework of the Organization (a transport corridor, free trade area, IT cooperation and space exploration).
When discussing security situation in the region, Vasyl Bodnar stressed that the international effort aimed at conflict settlement in the GUAM area should be based solely on the universally recognized principles and norms of international law, respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of the internationally recognized borders of the GUAM Member States.
