On August 22, a working meeting of government and business representatives on the intensification of cooperation with the African countries in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The event was attended by the Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh, Deputy Minister of Health for European Integration Maryna Slobodnichenko, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovska, the leadership of the Association «Manufacturers of Medications of Ukraine», ambassadors and chargé d'affaires ad interim of Ukraine in ten African countries, representatives of the leading Ukrainian pharmaceutical companies.
As part of the implementation of agreements reached as outcomes of the African tour of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in August this year, the participants of the meeting discussed support of Ukrainian manufacturers of medications in entering the medicinal and pharmaceutical African market, as well as the expansion of cooperation with the African countries.
«Given the insufficiently developed level of medical services, African countries are in dire need of foreign experience and technologies in the fields of medicine and the pharmaceutical industry. Ukraine has a unique chance to start active cooperation with the African states in these fields. This will have positive effect on the development of Ukraine's comprehensive cooperation with the African countries», - noted the Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh.
