On July 27, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Ukraine Brice Roquefeuil.

Yevhen Perebyinis congratulated the French diplomat on the start of his mission in Ukraine and wished him success in the performance of his diplomatic duties. The Deputy Minister emphasized that France is one of Ukraine's key partners and one of the leading leaders in mobilizing European support for our state, expressing hope for the continuation of this dynamic in the future.

During the meeting, Yevhen Perebyinis thanked the French side for France's leading role in the activities of the Coalition of the Willing, as well as for joining the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition. The interlocutors agreed that providing reliable security guarantees for Ukraine is an indispensable prerequisite for achieving a just and sustainable peace in Europe.

In the context of Ukraine's European integration, Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude to the French side for facilitating the opening of the first and sixth negotiation clusters and emphasized the importance of the unhindered opening of all other clusters.

The Deputy Minister highly praised France's contribution to strengthening Ukraine's energy and security resilience, in particular through the mobilization of international partners to finance the restoration of the protective arch over the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl NPP. He also expressed hope for France's continued active role in the G7 format in the context of Ukraine's preparation for the 2026–2027 heating season.

The parties paid special attention to the security situation in the Black Sea. Yevhen Perebyinis informed about the intensification of Russian attacks on the infrastructure of the Ukrainian maritime corridor, as a result of which more than 20 merchant vessels under Ukrainian and foreign flags have recently been damaged. In this context, he stressed the importance of further strengthening sanction pressure on Russia, in particular by introducing additional restrictions against its "shadow fleet", which is used to support Russian aggression and poses threats to international shipping.
