On August 6, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Tiina Intelmann.

The Deputy Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the start of her diplomatic mission in Ukraine and noted the high level of Ukrainian-Estonian political dialogue, as well as the consistent political, military, humanitarian, and practical support that Estonia provides to our state in the face of full-scale Russian aggression.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction in the international arena. Particular attention was paid to Ukraine's progress on the path to membership in the European Union and NATO. The interlocutors confirmed their readiness for further close coordination and cooperation in promoting Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

An important topic of the meeting was the sanctions policy towards Russia. Yevhen Perebiynis welcomed Estonia's decision to ban entry to Russian combatants who participated in the war against Ukraine and stressed the importance of Estonia's continued leadership role in shaping the European Union's sanctions policy.

The interlocutors also discussed the issue of Ukraine's energy security in the face of ongoing massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the Estonian side for its contribution to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine and emphasized that further assistance in strengthening the energy sustainability of our state remains one of the key priorities on the eve of the heating season.

Tiina Intelmann confirmed Estonia's unwavering support for Ukraine and assured her state's readiness to continue providing comprehensive long-term assistance to the Ukrainian people in countering Russian aggression.
