On August 21, 2025 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine, Andrejs Pildegovičs.

The Deputy Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine and highly evaluated the current level of political dialogue between Ukraine and Latvia. The Ukrainian diplomat expressed gratitude for Latvia's unwavering and comprehensive support for our state in countering Russian armed aggression, particularly in the military, financial, and humanitarian areas.

The parties discussed ways to further expand bilateral cooperation in the context of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and focused on issues of strengthening security and developing cooperation in the areas of humanitarian aid and reconstruction.

In turn, Andrejs Pildegovičs reiterated Latvia's unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and emphasized his country's readiness to continue strengthening practical and political support for Ukraine.
