On November 17 Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis had a telephone conversation with State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Jan Knutsson.
Yevhen Perebyinis and Jan Knutsson discussed the current military situation in Ukraine in the context of ongoing terrorist attacks by the aggressor state targeting civilian and critical infrastructure facilities.
The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for the new package of defence assistance provided by Sweden. The State Secretary of Sweden assured that the Government of Sweden will continue to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine in order to restore its territorial integrity.
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed hope for active interaction with Sweden during the country's presidency of the EU Council, which will begin on 1 January 2023, stressing that Ukraine expects to make significant progress during this period on the way to full EU membership.
The parties also discussed the development of bilateral Ukrainian-Swedish relations, in particular the prospects for intensifying the political dialogue between the two countries in the near future.
