On March 27, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with a Swedish delegation that included current members of parliament (the Riksdag) representing key political forces, as well as former heads of Sweden’s foreign affairs ministry, Ann Linde and Tobias Billström.
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed deep gratitude to the Government, Parliament, and people of Sweden for their unwavering solidarity and strong support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. The Deputy Minister particularly emphasized the importance of strong cross-party unity in the Swedish parliament, which is crucial for adopting vital decisions regarding assistance to Ukraine.
The parties highlighted that the total volume of aid provided by Sweden since 2022 has reached an unprecedented USD 13.5 billion, of which USD 10.4 billion constitutes military assistance, playing a critical role in protecting Ukrainian airspace and strengthening defense capabilities.
In the context of European integration, the Ukrainian side informed partners about its steady progress toward full EU membership. Current Swedish parliamentarians highly praised Ukraine’s progress in implementing reforms even under the extremely challenging conditions of a full-scale war and assured their continued support for Kyiv’s European integration aspirations.
