On February 7, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Kyllike Sillaste-Elling.
Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized Estonia's role in providing military, humanitarian and economic assistance to Ukraine. He also thanked for the approval of the "Ukraine's Victory Strategy" for 2024-2027, according to which Ukraine will receive annual military assistance of 0.25% of GDP over the next 4 years. "This Estonian initiative is an important demonstration of leadership and an example for other partners of Ukraine," the Deputy Minister said.
Both sides discussed their readiness to hold bilateral talks on concluding an agreement on providing Ukraine with security guarantees until Ukraine joins NATO.
The Deputy Ministers paid attention to the implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula, strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia, bringing Russia to justice for its crimes, Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and Estonia's participation in the restoration of our country. In this context, Yevhen Perebyinis thanked Estonia for its leadership in developing a mechanism for confiscating frozen Russian assets and using them to rebuild Ukraine.
Kyllike Sillaste-Elling confirmed the key importance of Ukraine among Estonia's foreign policy priorities, assured of Tallinn's continued readiness to strengthen practical assistance to Ukraine and deepen multidimensional cooperation between the two countries.
