On February 12, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with the delegation of the Czech Republic headed by Government’s Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Tomas Kopechny.
In the course of the meeting the Czech side was thanked for its readiness to support Ukraine's foreign policy initiatives aimed at achieving a just peace for our country and promoting global food security.
In the context of Ukraine's course towards EU integration, gratitude was expressed to the Czech Republic for supporting the EU's historic decision to start negotiations with Ukraine, as well as for the European Council's decision to launch the Ukraine Facility.
The delegation of the Czech Republic informed about their cooperation with the cities and regions of Ukraine on implementation of reconstruction projects, in particular, the restoration of water supply systems in the affected regions (Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk regions), medical facilities, power generating facilities, etc.
The parties exchanged views on the development of the Ukrainian-Czech dialogue in 2024, in particular, preparations for holding consultations between the governments of the two countries. The importance of the inter-parliamentary dimension of bilateral cooperation for promoting the interests of the two states was noted, in particular in the context of the Czechia’s presidency in the Visegrad Four (V4 - Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Czechia).
