On July 1, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with Jan Farsky, the member of the European Parliament (MEP) from the Czech Republic.
The Deputy Minister thanked the MEP for the support provided to Ukraine by the European Parliament and, in particular, the European People's Party, to which Jan Farsky belongs.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the development of the main aspects of cooperation in the context of Russia's ongoing armed aggression and discussed ways to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.
The parties paid priority attention to the issues of Ukraine's integration into the European Union, as well as post-war reconstruction. The parties agreed on the importance of ensuring further strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russia and preventing it from circumventing the current restrictions.
Yevhen Perebyinis informed about the progress and further steps in the negotiation process regarding Ukraine's accession to the EU. "One of the key guarantees of Ukraine's security is our membership in the European Union," he stressed.
In turn, Jan Farsky confirmed the readiness to continue supporting Ukraine's integration into the EU, and also emphasized that the EU needs Ukraine just as Ukraine needs the EU.
The Deputy Minister also thanked the Czech Republic for the military-technical, financial-economic and humanitarian assistance provided to our state from the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion, as well as for the efforts aimed at rebuilding Ukraine.
