On 28 November, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Thomas Bagger.

The Deputy Minister thanked the German side for supporting Ukraine and providing military assistance.

The parties paid special attention to the assessment of the situation at the frontline, the issue of ensuring further sustainable defence support for Ukraine and the protection of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

The parties also discussed further steps towards the implementation of Ukraine's strategic course towards EU and NATO membership.

Yevhen Perebyinis informed about the progress of the negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

The Deputy Minister emphasised that for Ukraine, the opening of negotiations means structuring further reforms, modernisation and restoration of the country within the framework of the EU accession process. The recent ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court is another proof of Ukraine's commitment to implementing all necessary reforms.

During the meeting, the parties paid particular attention to further strengthening sanctions pressure on the aggressor country and eliminating ways for Russia to circumvent sanctions.
