On 9 September, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis, held a meeting with Director-General of the European Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Kitagawa Katsuro.
The Deputy Minister expressed his gratitude to the Japanese side for its comprehensive support for Ukraine, including humanitarian and financial aid. Yevhen Perebyinis also noted the success of the Japan-Ukraine Conference for Promotion of Economic Growth and Reconstruction, which took place in Tokyo in February 2024, and expressed gratitude for the readiness of Japan to organize and host the international conference on demining of Ukraine in 2025.
Both sides discussed further steps for implementing the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and advancing the Special Global Partnership between Ukraine and Japan. They also welcomed the positive dynamics of bilateral dialogue at the higher and highest levels.
Katsuro Kitagawa, on his part, reaffirmed Japan’s unwavering support and readiness to continue to provide comprehensive assistance to our country.
