On 23 February, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Ukraine and the United Kingdom’s Trade Envoy to Ukraine Alex Sobel.
Yevhen Perebyinis highly commended the consistent military, financial, humanitarian, and energy assistance provided by the United Kingdom to Ukraine, as well as the strong cross-party support for our state demonstrated by the British Parliament.
The sides discussed the progress of the negotiation process aimed at achieving peace, security guarantees, and the role of the United Kingdom within the Coalition of the Willing in consolidating international support for Ukraine. In this context, Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized that Ukraine stands ready to contribute to the future security architecture of the European continent.
The Deputy Minister underscored the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and energy resilience, as well as supporting communities most affected by Russian attacks. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to further intensify comprehensive pressure on Russia, including through the expansion of sanctions, countering their circumvention, and ensuring effective mechanisms for the use of frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s recovery.
For his part, Alex Sobel reaffirmed the unwavering position of the United Kingdom on supporting Ukraine and assured on his readiness to further strengthen bilateral partnership in the areas of security, economy, energy, and countering Russian aggression.
