On April 23, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, General Sean Clancy.
During the meeting, Yevhen Perebyinis informed his counterpart about the current security situation in Ukraine, emphasizing that Russian aggression is systemic and deliberately targeted against the civilian population. He stressed that a significant portion of missile and drone attacks is directed at critical civilian infrastructure, including energy facilities and transport networks across the country.
In this context, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of further developing European Union initiatives as key mechanisms for providing military support to Ukraine and strengthening its capacity to counter Russian aggression. Particular attention was paid to the need to ensure proper training of Ukrainian servicemen within the framework of the EU EUMAM mission.
For his part, General Sean Clancy reaffirmed the European Union’s unwavering support, assuring continued assistance to Ukraine in meeting its urgent military and defense needs, as well as in training the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He emphasized that Ukraine’s security is an integral component of Europe’s security.
