On October 4, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Tim Enderlin, Head of the Peace and Human Rights Office of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) of the Swiss Confederation.
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude to Switzerland for its comprehensive humanitarian, political, economic and financial support to Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor. In this context, the Deputy Minister noted the decision of the Swiss Government to allocate CHF 1.5 billion for the restoration of Ukraine in 2025-2028.
The parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation with a view to involving Switzerland more actively in the implementation of the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The interlocutors emphasized that consolidation of the international community is a common priority for establishing a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
Yevhen Perebyinis welcomed the decision of the Swiss Parliament to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as an act of genocide, which was an important step towards restoring historical justice and preserving the memory of millions of innocent victims.
The Deputy Minister thanked the Swiss side for co-organizing the Ukraine Mine Action Conference (UMAC-2024), which will be held on October 17-18, 2024 in Lausanne. The parties underlined the importance of long-term cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining.
