On 21 August, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Dace Melbarde.
The Ukrainian diplomat positively noted the dynamics of political dialogue between Ukraine and Latvia at all levels and expressed his gratitude to the Latvian side for the comprehensive support provided to our country since the first days of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine. Yevhen Perebyinis also noted Latvia's active participation in restoration projects of civilian infrastructure in Chernihiv region, which suffered from Russian attacks.
The sides paid special attention to further cooperation between the two countries on Ukraine's path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. The Deputy Minister emphasised Ukraine's readiness to continue implementing the necessary reforms to meet the membership criteria and expressed hope for Latvia's active support in this matter.
For her part, Dace Melbarde assured the Ukrainian side of her unconditional further assistance to Ukraine in countering Russian aggression, in particular by supporting the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula and the next Peace Summit.
