On June 11, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Andrejs Pildegovičs.
The sides positively noted the high dynamism of the political dialogue between Ukraine and Latvia.
In particular, the interlocutors highly praised the recent meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Latvia Andris Kulbergs on the sidelines of the Ukraine – Nordic-Baltic Eight summit, held on June 9 in Tallinn. An important element of the meeting between the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Latvia was the signing of a Drone Deal agreement, which opens additional opportunities for both countries in joint defense production, and in exchanging technologies, experience and knowledge, including in building an integrated air defense system.
The sides also paid particular attention to the outcomes of Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko’s working visit to the Republic of Latvia on June 1-2, an important result of which were agreements on the restoration and protection of Ukraine’s energy system.
During the conversation, the interlocutors also discussed the schedule of bilateral contacts for the near future.
