On June 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis took part in the Greek-Ukrainian Business Forum held in Kyiv. The Greek delegation, which included 12 major companies, was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Tasos Chatzivasileiou.
At the forum, Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude to the Greek side for presenting the first large-scale business mission of Greek major enterprises to Ukraine, as well as to the leadership of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing the business event in Kyiv.
In his address, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of targeted and coordinated efforts by diplomacy and business to counter Russian aggression, the participation of Greek companies in the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome on July 10–11 and the need to implement joint projects in the fields of energy, food security, and Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The Business Forum marked a significant practical step toward deepening cooperation based on shared interests between Ukraine and Greece. It opened new avenues for economic collaboration and reinforced the strategic bond between the peoples of both countries.
"Ukraine remains functional. The government is operating. The private sector is adapting. The Ukrainian business community has proven its ability to endure, transform, and actively cooperate with its partners even under continuous attacks by the aggressor state," stressed Yevhen Perebyinis.
Tasos Chatzivasileiou highlighted the Greek government's readiness to support the implementation of infrastructure projects in the energy sector, particularly in ensuring the supply of hydrocarbons to Ukraine and developing transport and energy infrastructure — areas of critical importance amid ongoing Russian aggression.
In the context of Ukraine’s recovery, Greek businesses are focused on implementing projects related to the construction and rehabilitation of social and industrial infrastructure, including in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and the training of specialized personnel and professionals.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic also reaffirmed Greece’s steadfast support for Ukraine’s European integration path, despite the continuing military aggression by the Russian Federation. To this end, the Greek side will share its experience in meeting the standards and fulfilling the criteria required for EU membership.
