On 30 January, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis participated in a field session of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the protection of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
The event took place in Korosten and was attended by First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Kornienko, Minister of Social Protection, Family and Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Denys Ulyutin, Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi (online), as well as representatives of other central executive authorities, local communities, and members of parliament.
Yevhen Perebyinis briefed the participants on the preparation by the MFA of Ukraine and Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad for a series of international, informational, and public diplomacy events dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster in April 2026. Participants coordinated steps for further cooperation in engaging delegations from foreign countries and international organizations in these events.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will continue its efforts to consolidate international support, honor the memory of the victims of the tragedy, and draw global attention to nuclear safety issues amid the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine
