On March 21 Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis took part online in the Eighth Meeting of the Association Committee between Ukraine and the EU, which was held in a hybrid format (Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium).

Members of the delegations of Ukraine and the EU exchanged views at the event on the development of the main aspects of interaction in the context of Russia's ongoing armed aggression against Ukraine. They discussed areas for strengthening cooperation on the defense capabilities of Ukraine and the EU, as well as in the spheres of justice, freedom and security and cooperation on sectoral issues and the economy.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the EU's support for our country not only in countering the Russian Federation but also in Ukraine's accession to the EU, the country's restoration and modernization, as well as gradual economic integration into the EU internal market.

"This support helps us to go on with our struggle. However, to ensure a just and lasting peace, we must demonstrate to the Kremlin that further attempts to continue the aggression will lead to nothing. This requires effective and powerful strategic decisions,” Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized.

The Ukraine-EU Association Committee is the highest expert-level body of the association that carries out preparatory work for the meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council to be held at the highest level.
