On June 14, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis met with the delegation of the Senate of the Czech Republic headed by Vice President of the Senate Tomáš Černín and Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security Pavel Fischer.

Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude to the Czech Republic for its comprehensive support of Ukraine in its resistance to the Russian armed aggression, in particular for providing our country with significant defense assistance, including weapons and military equipment, and humanitarian aid.

They gave special focus to the implementation of the Peace Formula initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, sanction pressure on Russia and its accountability for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

The Sides exchanged views on the bilateral cooperation between our countries and its prospects in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. The activities within the framework of the International Crimea Platform, including the Second Parliamentary Summit in Prague in October this year, were discussed as well.

The Deputy Foreign Minister took this opportunity to thank the Czech senators for the recently adopted Resolution by the Czech Senate that calls on the NATO member states to grant membership to Ukraine in the Alliance as soon as possible.

The Sides also discussed the EU integration of Ukraine. In particular, Yevhen Perebyinis gave update on the progress made by Ukraine in implementing the seven recommendations of the European Commission and noted the Czech Republic's support in favor to launch the pre-accession negotiations with the EU already this year.
