On September 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha will pay a working visit to the Republic of Moldova upon instructions by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In Chisinau, the Foreign Minister will hold bilateral talks with his Moldovan counterpart Mihai Popșoi. The key topics of their discussion will include the development of close neighbourly relations and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects, strengthening security in the region and joint counteraction to Russian disinformation, a peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict with respect for Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and coordination on the path to Ukraine and Moldova's accession to the EU.
Moldova will be the third country on the first foreign tour of the newly appointed Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. In the previous days, the Foreign Minister has already visited Romania and Slovakia. The choice of neighbouring countries for the first foreign trip demonstrates Ukraine's intention to develop a pragmatic and predictable neighbourhood policy that will contribute to the achievement of its strategic goals of joining the European Union and NATO.
