Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "On my way to Ireland for the informal EU ministerial, I had a warm meeting with my Moldovan friend and colleague Mihai Popșoi in Chișinău.
We highly value our close partnership and will continue strengthening it, including in the Odesa triangle format with Romania.
I informed Mihai about Russia’s escalation of terror and its inability to achieve any results on the battlefield. We also discussed latest Russian strikes against our border infrastructure.
Our nations share a common path toward the EU, and we are determined to advance side by side. We are ready to open all remaining clusters and urge EU member states to act.
We also spoke about joint steps to counter Russia’s attempts to destabilise our countries and the wider region.
I had the honour of personally presenting my colleague with the Order of Merit, II Class, awarded by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This award recognises Mihai’s personal contribution to strengthening Ukrainian–Moldovan relations and Moldova’s consistent support for Ukraine".
