Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a good call with Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher. 

I informed him about the consequences of Russia’s overnight attack on Ukrainian cities and the continued threats to our people. 

I expressed gratitude to Pope Leo XIV for his Independence Day greetings to Ukraine, as well as for his continued calls for peace and solidarity with the Ukrainian people. We deeply value His Holiness’s attention to Ukraine and his voice in support of a just and lasting peace. 

We discussed the implementation of the bilateral arrangements reached during Archbishop Gallagher’s recent visit to Ukraine and further steps to advance our cooperation. 

We also discussed humanitarian projects and initiatives supported by the Holy See, particularly those aimed at helping Ukrainians affected by the war. I thanked the Holy See for its continued humanitarian engagement."
