Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Good to connect with Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, in Bucharest.
We discussed Ukraine–Moldova cooperation, our shared path toward EU membership, and the progress we have made. It is crucial for both countries to open all EU accession clusters by the end of this year.
I briefed my Moldovan colleague on Russia’s latest strikes against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which have already caused power cuts and water supply disruptions in Kyiv, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, and other cities. We discussed cooperation to address the consequences and stabilise energy supply.
Moldova has faced an increase in Russian drone incidents in recent months. Ukraine stands ready to share its defence expertise with our neighbours.
Strengthening regional security is a shared priority. We are ready to continue to protect our countries and the region as a whole".
