During the meeting, which was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, the issues of European integration of Ukraine, in particular the future Association Agreement within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Summit in November in Vilnius was on the main focus discussion.
Minister Kozhara informed in details Minister Timmermans on the outcomes of Ukraine-EU Summit, which was held on February 25 in Brussels and pointed out that the results of the Summit will give additional impetus for strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.
Minister Timmermans emphasized that the Netherlands is interested in signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius and underlined the readiness of the Netherlands to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.
Within the framework of the meeting the whole range of issues of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Netherlands, in particular in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.
Ministers pointed out on the necessity for further intensification of bilateral political dialogue at high level and expressed mutual interest in further strengthening trade and economic and investment cooperation. Minister Timmermans expressed his readiness to visit Ukraine in the first part of this year.
Ministers discussed the issues of regional policy during the meeting. Frans Timmermans welcomed Ukraine's chairmanship in the OSCE and the Netherlands confirmed the readiness to cooperate with our country on the agenda of the OSCE, particularly emphasizing the importance of the settlement of the Transniestrian conflict.
