Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Danylo Lubkivsky received the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia in Ukraine Dr. Argita Daudze to discuss the recent developments in Ukraine.
The sides discussed current situation in Ukraine with regard to the so called “referendum” in AR Crimea. Dr. Daudze has pointed out that official Riga does not recognize the results of this “referendum” and strongly condemns aggression of Russia against Ukraine. The Ambassador confirmed the full support by Latvia of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and stressed the readiness of Latvia to provide maximum assistance to our State in its efforts to counter occupation.
The Deputy Foreign Minister thanked Latvian partners for strong support of Ukraine and stressed that today, more than ever, it is important to consolidate all international efforts to guarantee the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The sides also discussed issues of the European integration of Ukraine and Latvian specific proposals to share their experience of joining the EU.
