On November 25, 2011 the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine H.E. Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with the Minister for Commerce and Industry of India Mr. A. Sharma.
During the meeting a wide range of issues of mutual interest was discussed, above all, the further intensification of bilateral trade, and given the positive examples of Ukrainian-Indian industrial cooperation, the ways of expanding cooperation in the spheres of machine- and ship-building, energetics, mining and in the realization of joint infrastructure projects. K. Gryshchenko mentioned the willingness of the Ukrainian state and private entities to participate in a number of national infrastructure projects in India.
It was emphasized on the importance of holding in the near future of the 4th Meeting of the Ukrainian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical, industrial and cultural cooperation and the first Meeting of the Working Group on trade, it was also underlined on the necessity of activisation of cooperation with the purpose to participate in joint projects on the markets of third countries.
A. Sharma expressed hope that the positive dynamics of bilateral trade will allow our countries to achieve the turnover of 5 bln. by 2015. He also announced his intention to pay an official visit to Ukraine in 2012 in order to launch the permanently acting Ukrainian-Indian Business Council.
