The Commissioner, in accordance with his mandate, conducts his planned visits to the Council of Europe member-states to discuss the issues of human rights protection and give relevant recommendations to help redress shortcomings.
During the meeting the participants exchanged views on the ongoing reforms in Ukraine in the realm of human rights and the rule of law, in particular on reforming legal and judiciary systems to meet European standards.
Minister emphasized that the enhancement of the effective cooperation between the Council of Europe and the OSCE in the field of human rights will be in focus of the future Ukrainian OSCE Chairmanship in 2013.
The Commissioner prized the results of Ukrainian Chairmanship in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in the field of human rights protection on the European continent.
The Commissioner will stay in a visit to Ukraine for 3 days and is planning to held meetings not only in Kyiv, but also in Crimea with the President of the Council of Ministers and the Head of Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
