Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mr. Gryshchenko held negotiations with Swedish Foreign Minister Mr. Bildt on 8 April 2010. Mr. Carl Bildt is in Ukraine on his working visit on 8-9 April 2010. Mr. Gryshchenko and Mr. Bildt appreciated highly current state of Ukrainian-Swedish relations. The evidence of their active development is permanent political dialogue, intense economic cooperation and successful cooperation in the framework of Swedish technical assistance programme in Ukraine.
It was stated during the negotiations that the two countries have established good cooperation in such sectors as support to Ukrainian aspirations towards the EU integration, implementation of democratic reforms, implementation of programmes aimed at energy saving and use of alternative energy sources.
Mr. Gryshchenko and Mr. Bildt have confirmed determination to further develop dynamic bilateral relations.
The two Ministers have also discussed a range of international issues of common interest. Special attention was paid to acceleration of the negotiations process regarding the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. During the talks Mr. Gryshchenko and Mr. Bildt have also discussed future chairmanship of Ukraine in the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (May – November 2011) as well as some OSCE related issues.
