On July 13, 2010 Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ukraine Mr. Abdeljalil Saubry.

During the meeting the Sides underscored the high level of the Ukrainian- Moroccan cooperation in political, trade-economic, humanitarian spheres and expressed readiness to intensify bilateral relations. The Sides discussed the possibility of conducting the Second meeting of the Ukrainian-Moroccan Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation in November 2010 in Kiev and the present state of the preparation of the number of bilateral agreements.

The issues of holding the next round of political consultations at the level of Deputy Ministers for Foreign Affairs, the prospects of simplification of visa regime for Ukrainian citizens, the establishment of the direct air communication between Ukraine and Morocco, the cooperation in the field of tourism were also discussed.

Given the fact that Morocco and the EU plan to sign a free-trade agreement in the nearest future, Ambassador Saubri expressed readiness to consider the possibility of setting up trilateral trade cooperation in the format Ukraine-Morocco-EU.
