On August 1-st. 2012 the Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa H.E. Mr. Yevhen Mykytenko received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt H.E. Mr. Yasir Mohammed Atef Abdel Qader on the occasion of completion of his mission to Ukraine.
During the meeting the interlocutors hailed with gladness the stable and dynamic development of the Ukrainian-Egyptian relations in different spheres, having praised, in particular, the high volumes of bilateral trade between the two states. The Ukrainian diplomat stressed that during the last years the Arab Republic of Egypt has remained the biggest trade and economic partner for Ukraine in the Middle East and the African continent with which the annual bilateral turnover for several years has exceeded 1.5 bln. US dollars (90% of which is Ukrainian export).
H.E. Mr.Yevhen Mykytenko greeted the Egyptian Ambassador with the successful accomplishment of massive democratic transformations which took place in Egypt during 2011-2012, having emphasized that the liberalization of this Arab country along with broadening the rights and freedoms of its citizens should, first and foremost, stimulate the raise of the level of prosperity and well-being of the Egyptian people.
In his turn, the Ambassador of Egypt underlined that Ukraine has always been and will remain among the priority European partners for the Arab Republic of Egypt due to the long traditions of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting H.E. Mr.Yevhen Mykytenko wished the Egyptian diplomat a successful continuation of his diplomatic job, having as well wished the friendly people of Egypt – peace, progress and prosperity.
