On September 12, 2012 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Victor Mayko met with First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jiří Schneider.

During the meeting the parties discussed issues on the agenda of the Ukrainian-Czech relations, including prospects of political dialogue, strengthening the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation, improving the cooperation in the consular area.

In this context, it was agreed a preliminary timetable of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, as well as a need of intensifying the preparation for the next meeting of the Ukrainian-Czech Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic, Industrial and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.

Special attention was paid to the issues of European integration. The Czech side reaffirmed its full support of Ukraine's European aspirations, including the signing and subsequent ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement.
