OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara went on a two-day visit to the Republic of Moldova. During the visit Mr. Kozhara also plans to visit Moldova’s Transnistrian Region.
It is expected that Mr. Kozhara will hold negotiations with the President of the Republic of Moldova Nicolae Timofti, the Head of the Moldavian Parliament Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vladimir Filat, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca and the Moldavian Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Mr. Eugene Carpov. The OSCE Chairman is also going to meet with foreign ambassadors, accredited in Chisinau, as well as with the representatives of the OSCE mission to Moldova.
During his visit to Tyraspol on Jan. 22, 2013, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office is scheduled to meet with the Leader of Transnistrian Region Mr. Evgheni Shevchuk and with Political Representative of this region in the conflict settlement negotiations Ms. Nina Stanski.
Mr. Kozhara will discuss with the leaders of the Republic of Moldova the important aspects of bilateral Ukrainian-Moldavian relations including Transnistrian settlement that is announced to be one of the key priorities of the Ukrainian OSCE chairmanship this year. Namely, the Sides are going to discuss preparatory arrangements for the next negotiation session within “5+2” format, scheduled for the second half of February 2013 in Lviv.
