Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "I had a productive call with Botswana’s Minister of International Relations, Dr. Phenyo Butale. We discussed Ukraine–Botswana bilateral cooperation, engagement within international organizations, and regional security issues. We agreed to intensify political dialogue at all levels, strengthen coordination in multilateral formats, and expand the bilateral legal framework. A special attention was paid to countering the recruitment of African countries’ citizens into Russia’s war against Ukraine. We appreciate Botswana’s attention to this issue and readiness to work together to address it. We also explored opportunities to deepen mutually beneficial economic cooperation between our countries. Ukraine highly values Botswana’s principled support for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.  We appreciate Botswana’s consistent position and stand ready to further strengthen our partnership in the shared interests of our nations".
