On Monday, December 8, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha solemnly opened the Vice Consulate of Ukraine in Rzeszów (Rzeszów), Republic of Poland.

The new Vice Consulate will become the sixth consular institution of Ukraine in Poland and will provide consular support to about 60 thousand Ukrainians in Rzeszów, Przemyśl, Jarosław and Bieszczady counties.

In his speech, Andrii Sybiha emphasized that ensuring the proper rights of Ukrainian citizens abroad and simplifying access to consular services provided by the state is a priority for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Wherever Ukrainians are today, they should know for sure: the consul is nearby, the state is nearby, they are remembered, their interests will be represented, and their rights are protected,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized.

The expansion of Ukraine's diplomatic presence in Poland will strengthen the support of Ukrainian citizens, promote cross-border cooperation and strengthen ties between the Ukrainian and Polish peoples.

During the ceremony, the Minister presented the "Amber Heart" awards of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to the city-savior Ryaśwo (Rzeszów) and the Voivode of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Mrs. Teresa Kubas-Gul.

"Your city is the first to be awarded the title of "City-savior". It was through it that millions of Ukrainians moved from war to safety. This was a real path of life. Today you continue to remain at the forefront of international solidarity, helping our people, our Defense Forces and the state as a whole," the Minister noted.

The Voivode of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Mrs. Teresa Kubas-Gul, consistently supports Ukraine and Ukrainians, making a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish institutions.

“The solidarity of your wonderful city and the entire Podkarpacie Voivodeship has become a symbol of humanity and unshakable faith in the victory of good and unity. We are sincerely grateful to the entire Polish people for their tireless support and assistance to Ukraine and our citizens,” the minister concluded.

The official ceremony was attended by Ewa Lenyart, a member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Tereza Kubas-Gul, the Voivode of the Podkarpacie Voivodeship, Władysław Ortyl, the Marshal of the Podkarpacie Voivodeship, Krystyna Stachowska, the Deputy President of the City of Rzeszów (Rzeszów), the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, the Consul-Head of the Vice-Consulate of Ukraine in Rzeszów (Rzeszów), Vasyl Jordan, as well as the Ukrainian community in Poland.

The new vice consulate will soon begin providing a full range of consular services for Ukrainian citizens residing within the consular district, which covers the territories of Rzeszów, Przemyśl, Jarosław and Bieszczady counties.
