Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha: "Russia attacked Ukraine throughout the night, sending missiles and drones against cities and communities across the country. And the attacks have continued into the morning.

In Kyiv, a Russian drone struck an apartment building, injuring four people. In the Odesa region, Russia attacked the international Starokozache border crossing with Moldova, killing two people, injuring three, and forcing the suspension of its operations. The consequences of Russian strikes are also being dealt with in the Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions.

This is what Russia does when it sees that repeated attacks bring too few consequences. It expands the geography and increases the frequency, testing how far it can go.

The world cannot stand idly by while Russia treats Ukrainians like targets at a shooting range.

Russia should enter this winter knowing that the sky over Ukraine is becoming harder to penetrate, that the missiles and drones it produces will increasingly be intercepted, and that the industries, technologies, revenues, and supply chains sustaining its attacks will face disruption and growing price.

This requires decisions now: additional air defence systems and interceptors, especially against ballistic missiles; more missiles for F-16s and additional aircraft to strengthen our ability to protect the sky; tougher sanctions against Russia’s military-industrial base and circumvention networks; and much stronger pressure on Moscow.

Closing Ukraine’s sky is no longer a question of responding to individual Russian attacks. It is about taking away Russia’s confidence that it can continue this terror indefinitely and still pay an acceptable price for it.

The longer Moscow sees hesitation, the more it will try. The task is to reverse that calculation".
