On April 30, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a virtual meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sodiq Ashurboyzoda Imomi. That was the first bilateral contact at this level since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression.
The parties exchanged greetings on the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and emphasized the importance of intensifying political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, in particular, determined future joint steps in these areas. The interlocutors also discussed prospects for cooperation within international organizations.
Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude to the Tajik side for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and informed about the preparations for the First Inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan Valerii Yevdokymov and Ambassador of Tajikistan to Ukraine Davlatali Haydar Nazrizoda also took part in the meeting.
