On April 30, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh received the newly appointed Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to Ukraine Kazem Tarek Adil.

Maksym Subkh expressed gratitude to the Republic of Iraq for the fundamental support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in particular within the framework of international organizations.

The Special Representative of Ukraine emphasized the importance of involving the Iraqi side in the implementation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy`s Peace Formula and expressed hope for the participation of the high representative of Iraq in the Global Peace Summit, which will be held in Switzerland.

The parties discussed a wide range of the current bilateral issues, in particular the necessity to expand the legal framework of bilateral relations, as well as raised the issue of sharing experience in the field of humanitarian demining.

The interlocutors emphasized the mutual commitment of Ukraine and Iraq to further develop, as a priority, trade and economic component of bilateral relations, in particular, by intensifying the work of the relevant intergovernmental mechanisms.
